You can use Switcher Studio to schedule a livestream to Facebook up to seven days prior to the start time. Scheduling the stream allows you to share the link before going live.

Scheduling a stream is very similar to setting up a regular livestream, but instead of going live immediately, you will set a specific start time in the future. The start time must be more than ten minutes from when you are scheduling the stream.

You can set up a scheduled stream in the Switcher Studio Dashboard or directly in the app. The experience is very similar. Some people prefer to use the Dashboard, so that they can use a computer, while others prefer the app since it does not require a second device.

Scheduling a Facebook Stream in the Switcher Studio Dashboard

Step 1: Go to the Platforms page of the Switcher Studio Dashboard

  • Click Details next to Facebook (this assumes you have already linked your Facebook account to Switcher Studio. If you have not linked your account, click Connect and then follow the prompts to connect your account until you get to the stream setup screen).

  • Tap My Timeline, Page, or Group from the horizontal menu at the top.

  • As you tap through the menu, the available options will appear below.

  • Tap the destination (from My Tmeline, Page, or Group) where you would like to stream.

  • The next screen is where you will set up the stream.

Note: if you do not see the Page or Group you want to stream to, it is likely you did not allow Switcher Studio full permission when linking your Facebook account. Step 3: Set up the stream settings

  • By default, the Scheduling dropdown will be set to Go live now. Click the dropdown and select Schedule for later.

  • New scheduling options will appear.

  • Click the box with the date and time.

  • Use the clock tool to enter a start time.

  • Click Select a Photo to add an image to the post for the stream.

  • Scroll down to continue with the settings.

  • Add a Title and Description for the stream.

  • Recommended: If you are at the location where you will be streaming, we recommend using the Speed Test button to test your internet speed and automatically select the optimal stream quality based on the results. Alternatively, you can manually select a stream quality by tapping an option at the bottom.

The other streaming options will vary based on the destination type.
