Switcher Studio can be used as the video source in Zoom to allow your presentations and meetings to have an added touch of professionalism and personality. The Switcher Studio live feed can be connected to Zoom either through a wired or wireless connection. This article contains walkthroughs for both processes.

In this article:

Using Switcher Studio With Zoom via Camo Studio (Wired)

Camo Studio is a computer application that allows iOS devices to act as high-quality webcams for computers. With the help of Camo Studio, the live feed from Switcher Studio can be used as the video source in Zoom meetings. This process requires a USB connection between the main switching device (i.e. iPad, iPhone) and the computer running the Zoom application.

Requirements:

  • iOS device (i.e. iPad, iPhone)

  • USB cable (Lightning to USB or USB-C to USB)

  • Computer with the Zoom desktop client installed (i.e. Mac, PC)

  • Camo Studio (computer application)

Instructions:

  • Plug the main switching device (i.e. iPad, iPhone) into the computer via USB cable.

  • Open the Switcher Studio app on the main switching device.

  • Download and install Camo Studio on a computer.

  • Open Camo Studio.

  • Make sure the main switching device is the selected device.

    • If all settings are correct, you will see a copy of the Switcher Studio live feed within the Camo Studio application.

  • Select the preferred audio source (i.e. the iOS device running Switcher Studio, MacOS USB audio input, etc.)

  • Join or start a Zoom meeting on the computer.

  • Click the arrow on the Start Video / Stop Video button in the bottom-left corner.

  • Click Reincubate Camo to select it as your camera source.

    • The video and audio will now output from the Switcher Studio app into the Zoom meeting.

Using Switcher Studio With Zoom via AirPlay (Wireless)

AirPlay is an Apple feature that allows the Switcher Studio live feed to be displayed as a screen source in Zoom. This process requires that both the iOS device running Switcher Studio and the computer are connected to the same wireless network.

Requirements:

  • iOS device (i.e. iPad, iPhone)

  • Computer with the Zoom desktop client installed (i.e. Mac, PC)

  • Wireless network

Instructions:

  • Join or start a Zoom meeting on the computer.

  • Click Share Screen in Zoom.

  • Click iPhone/iPad via Airplay.

  • Click the box next to Share sound in the bottom-left corner.

    • A checkmark will appear in the box.

    • Note: You can also use an audio source from a Mac as your audio in the Zoom. Keep in mind, however, that any assets with audio will not play through to viewers when using this method.

  • Click Share in the bottom-right corner.

    • If this is your first time using this process, you will be prompted to install a plugin. Click Install.

  • Open Switcher Studio on the main switching device (i.e. iPad, iPhone).

  • Tap the Outputs tab.

  • Tap To HDMI/Airplay.

  • Tap Output the Live Feed.

    • Once selected, a blue check mark will appear.

  • Open the Control Center on the main switching device.

    • Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen for newer devices.

    • Swipe down from the bottom of the screen for older devices.

  • Tap Screen Mirroring.

  • Tap "Zoom-YOUR COMPUTER NAME".

    • The video and audio will now output from the Switcher Studio app into the Zoom meeting.
