This article contains a list of all supported iOS and OS devices with additional device recommendations to ensure the highest quality production. For peak performance, we recommend using newer devices with up-to-date software (iOS 18.0 and higher or macOS 15.0 and higher.).

Older iOS Devices
Although some older iOS devices may work with Switcher Studio, the video quality and WiFi communication may not perform as expected and some features may be inaccessible. We do not provide support for devices not included in the list of compatible devices above.
Non-iOS Devices
The Switcher Studio app is now available for MacOS in addition to iOS devices such as iPads and iPhones. There are also ways to allow screensharing and webcam sources from computers and external devices using the Remote Guest feature and Switcher Cast application.

Android Devices
With app version 13.14.0, the Switcher Remote Camera app turns your Android device into a wireless, remote camera angle for Switcher. With it, you can create more dynamic, engaging, professional-looking videos and live streams. Note: Android devices can be used as cameras but cannot be used as the main Switcher device to run the production.

NDI Hardware
With the release of Switcher 13.17.0, NDI (Network Device Interface) hardware will be compatible with the Switcher app for Beta testing. NDI is a video connectivity standard that enables multimedia systems to identify and communicate with one another over IP.
Note: This iteration of NDI compatibility is very much still in a testing phase with expanded versions coming soon!
