Using A VTuber Model In Switcher
Many live streamers prefer to use a VTuber Model (otherwise known as a Virtual Avatar Model) in place of their own physical image. It is easy to bring your VTuber Model into Switcher via our iOS Screensharing feature!

Installing And Updating Your Equipment
To get started, you'll need the following:
Your iOS devices running on iOS 17.0 or higher. Open your grey Settings app on your iOS devices, tap on General > Software Update, and install any pending updates. If your device can't install iOS 17.0 or higher, then this device cannot be used reliably with Switcher.
The Switcher app installed on all of your devices and running the latest app version. Open the blue App Store app on your iOS devices, search "Switcher", and tap on either "INSTALL" or "UPDATE".
The REALITY app installed on one device that also has Switcher, and running the latest app version. Open the blue App Store app on your iOS devices, search "REALITY", and tap on either "INSTALL" or "UPDATE".
Creating Your VTuber Model With REALITY
The REALITY app works best with an iPhone that is propped up via a tripod (to properly reflect your face). Open the REALITY app, and tap on the colorful blue circle at the bottom of the screen.
Customize your VTuber Model to its desired appearance.
Using Your VTuber Model With Switcher
- Open the Switcher app on your device that has the REALITY app installed. Do not sign in. Instead, tap Share Camera Or Screen.
- Tap Share Screen.
- Tap the white Share Screen button.
- Tap Start Broadcast.
- Swipe the Switcher app closed, and open the REALITY app
- Tap the colorful circle at the bottom of the screen to boot up your VTuber Model, and place your phone on a tripod where it can see your face.
- Finally, open Switcher on your main switching device, and navigate to the Inputs tab.
- Under Sources On Your WiFi Network, tap on your device's display. (Note: If you don't see this, ensure that your main switching device and your iOS Screenshared device with REALITY are both connected to the exact same WiFi network).
Your REALITY avatar will now show in the Sources window. Tap on it to add it to your Live production space!
You can use a picture-in-picture setup from our Multiviews selection to place your avatar in the corner of your screen! The one used in the above screenshot is a 2-view, picture-in-picture, with the horizontal viewpoint significantly narrowed 🙂
