Cartr Overview

Cartr is an app available in the Shopify App Store which allows you to use Switcher's live-selling features on Switcher Player and Facebook. Cartr makes selling and purchasing products during your livestream quick, intuitive, and easy for viewers!

Getting Started With Cartr

To begin live selling with Switcher, you will need:

  • An iOS device (i.e. iPhone, iPad) running iOS 17 or higher
  • A Shopify store
  • A Switcher Studio account

Adding Cartr To Your Shopify Store

To start live selling with Switcher, you'll first need to add the Cartr app to your Shopify store. Doing this is quick and easy!

To add Cartr to your Shopify store:

  • Go to Cartr in the Shopify App Store.
  • Click Add app.
  • Click Add sales channel.

  • Click Connect.

  • A new window will appear prompting you to enter your Switcher login info.
  • Enter your email address and password.
  • Click Log In.
    • You will receive a confirmation message stating that your Switcher account has been linked to Cartr.

Live Selling On Your Website With Switcher Player & Cartr

Live Selling On Facebook With Cartr

Cartr's integration with Facebook allows users to comment on your live video with a special code, which generates a chatbot that walks the viewer through the purchase process. To get started, check out the Live Selling on Facebook With Cartr article!

Selecting The Shopify Collection

It's time to go live! All that's left to do is to select one of your Shopify Collections for your stream.


To select a Shopify Collection for your livestream:

  • Open Switcher on your iOS device.
    • If prompted, be sure to allow Switcher to access to your Camera, Photos, and Microphone.
    • Log in with your Switcher account information.
      • This will be the same information you used to log into the Switcher Studio Dashboard.
  • Tap the Plus (+) icon (iPhone only)
  • Tap New Livestream
  • Tap Horizontal or Vertical.
  • Tap Enter Studio.
  • Tap the Cartr tab (cart icon) in the bottom-right corner.
    • You may need to scroll the tab bar to see the Cartr icon if it is not currently visible.
  • Tap Collection.

  • Tap the Collection you want to use.
    • A blue checkmark will appear next to the selected collection.
    • Tap Done in the top-right corner.
      • The items in the selected Collection will now appear in the Cartr tab in the Switcher Studio app.

Displaying Products During Your Stream

First things first, tap the big red button to go live. Now, it's time to show off your products 🙂


To make a product available for purchase:

  • Tap the Cartr tab (cart icon) on the main switching device (i.e. iPad, iPhone).
  • Tap the product in the Products list.

Note: The product name, image, UPI, and price, and options (e.g. sizes and colors) are pulled directly from your Shopify store.
