How to Manage Your Video Library

The Video Library is a cloud storage feature that hosts Switcher Player videos and can store cloud recordings of livestreams made using the Multistreaming feature. The Video Library can be accessed and managed using either the Switcher Dashboard in a web browser or the Switcher app on an iOS device.

Video Library Storage Allotments

The available number of files in your Video Library is determined by your subscription type. Once you are near your limit, you will receive a banner in the Switcher app and Dashboard alerting you of the upcoming limit.

  • Free Trial: 3 videos
  • 7-Day Pass: 10 videos
  • Studio: 10 videos
  • Business: 50 videos
  • Merchant: 100 videos
  • Plus: 150 videos / 50 per user

Video Library & Livestreaming

  • Cloud versions are available immediately at the end of a livestream.
  • The quality of the Cloud Recording will match the quality of the original livestream or video file.
  • Cloud Recordings are an alternative to saving local recordings if device storage is limited.
  • Local Recording can still be enabled when Cloud Recording is utilized.
  • Cloud Recording only stores recordings made using the Multistreaming feature.
Note: Any remaining recordings will be removed from the Video Library when a Switcher account is canceled.

How to Access the Video Library

To access the video library from a computer or mobile web browser:

To access the Video Library with the Switcher App:

  • Open the Switcher app.
  • Tap Video Library in the bottom-left corner.

How to Upload to the Video Library

Switcher Player features the ability to upload prerecorded videos for on-demand playback on Switcher Players. Once uploaded, videos will be available in the designated Switcher Players.

From a web browser:

  • Go to the Switcher Studio Dashboard.
  • Log in to your Switcher account if prompted.
  • Click Video Library in the left sidebar.
  • Select Click to Upload to select your video file or drag and drop the file into the Upload Video pane.
    • If you select multiple video files, the following steps will not be accessible during the upload process. You can manually adjust the title and description of each video after it has been uploaded from within the Video Library.
  • Enter the Title and Description.
  • Optional: Upload a thumbnail.
  • Optional: Choose a category or create a new one.
  • Optional: Click Select Players to select and add the video to Switcher Players.
  • Click Upload.
  • When the video has completed the upload, click Done.
  • After the video has finished processing, it will be available for playback in the Switcher Player playlist.

From the Switcher app:

  • Open Switcher on the iOS device with the recording.
  • Tap Upload To Video Library.
  • Select the video you would like to upload.
  • Enter a title, description, and thumbnail (optional).
  • Tap Upload.

From the Photos or Files app:

  • Open the Photos or Files app.
  • Tap the video you would like to upload.
  • Tap the share icon.
  • Tap Switcher.
  • Tap Upload next to Upload to Video Library.
  • The Switcher app will open
  • Enter the video's Title and Description. (optional)
  • Choose a thumbnail image. (optional)
  • Select a category. (optional)
  • Tap Upload.

How to Download From the Video Library

From a web browser:

  • Go to the Switcher Studio Dashboard.
  • Log in to your Switcher account if prompted.
  • Click Video Library in the left sidebar.
  • Locate the video you would like to download.
  • Click the download icon next to the video (cloud and arrow).
  • Your download will begin.

Note: If you would like to download multiple videos at a time, check the box next to each video then click Download in the top-right corner.

From the Switcher app:

  • Open the Switcher app.
  • Tap Video Library in the bottom-left corner.
  • Tap the video you would like to download.
  • Tap Download.



How to Access Video Details in the Switcher App

  • Open the Switcher app.
  • Tap Video Library in the bottom-left.
  • Tap the video you would like to access.
  • From here you can view the following details:
    • Which Switcher Players the video appears on
    • Which gated content passes are assigned to the video
    • Video size (in megabytes)
    • Creation date
    • Dimensions (i.e. 1920 x 1080)
