If you plan on streaming to Facebook, there are three separate steps. First, you'll need to connect your Facebook account to Switcher Studio. This is usually a one-time process. Next, you'll need to set up the stream, and last, you'll initiate the stream (i.e. broadcast). The process varies slightly based on whether you’re initiating your stream immediately or if you’re using Switcher Studio’s Schedule feature to stream at a later time.

Connecting your Facebook account

Before your first stream, you’ll need to connect your Facebook account to Switcher Studio:

  1. Open Switcher Studio in your main switching device, and tap Use as Switcher.
  2. Tap the Outputs tab.
  3. Tap Facebook.
  4. Tap Link Your Facebook Account
  5. Enter your Facebook login credentials.
  6. Tap Log in.
  7. Tap Continue.
  8. Tap Close.

Setting up your Facebook stream

Once you’ve connected your Facebook Account to Switcher Studio, you can stream to a personal Timeline, a Page, or a Group on Facebook.

Note: If you plan on streaming to a Facebook Group, an Admin of the Group must first accept Switcher Studio as a streaming destination. It’s a one-time process that an Admin must complete on a laptop or computer as follows:

  1. Go to the Group page on Facebook.
  2. Click the More dropdown.
  3. Click Edit Group Settings.
  4. Under the Apps section, click Add Apps.
  5. Search for and select “Switcher Studio.”
  6. Allow streaming and click Add.
  7. Close the final confirmation box.

To set up your Facebook stream:

  1. Open Switcher Studio in your main switching device, and tap Use as Switcher.
  2. Tap the Outputs tab.
  3. Tap Facebook.
  4. Tap the gear icon.
  5. Tap Choose New Destination.
  6. Select the destination.
  7. Add a title and description, and select a stream quality.
  8. If you are streaming immediately, tap Create Livestream and skip to the instructions for “Initiating your Facebook stream if going live immediately.”
  9. If you are not streaming immediately, tap Schedule and follow these additional instructions.
  10. Tap the box under Schedule to edit the date and time.
  11. Tap the desired date on the calendar.
  12. Tap the clock icon under the calendar and select the desired time.
