Using Scoreboards in Switcher Studio

For those streaming live sporting events, showing a scoreboard on screen is more than just a want: it's a necessity. You can create a Scoreboard within Switcher Studio and customize it for your needs.

Accessing Scoreboards in Switcher Studio

To access scoreboards:

  • Open the Switcher Studio app.

  • Tap Horizontal or Vertical.

  • Tap the Scoreboard icon located in the tab bar in bottom right-corner.

    • If the Scoreboard icon is not visible, scroll the tab bar until it comes into view.


Choosing a Scoreboard Template

Depending on the type of sport you are keeping score for, or the aesthetic you like, you can choose from a number of Scoreboard templates.

To select a Scoreboard Template:

  • Tap Template in the Scoreboard tab.

  • Tap the Scoreboard template you would like to use.

  • Tap Close in the top-left corner.

  • Tap the toggle next to Display Scoreboard to preview it.


Customizing Your Scoreboard

The Switcher Scoreboard can be customized to fit your streaming needs. If you like to keep your visuals simple, our scoreboard can do that. If you want to add team and sponsor logos, customize colors, size, location, and font, the Switcher Scoreboard can do that too!

To access the Scoreboard properties:

  • Tap the Scoreboard tab.

  • Select the Scoreboard template you would like to use.

  • Tap Edit Properties.

  • Configure the Scoreboard Properties to the desired settings.

Adding a Team Logo

You can add a team logo which will appear next to the team name in the scoreboard. To save time on-site, have the team send you their logo in advance.

To add team logos to your scoreboard:

  • Tap Edit Properties in the Scoreboards tab.

  • Tap Logo under the Team you want to edit (i.e. Team 1, Team 2).

  • Select the location of the team logo.

    • The team logo will now appear next to the team name in the Scoreboard.

      • Note: if you are importing a .png file, it is best to use Switcher Cloud or Files app to preserve the background transparency.

Adding a Team Background

To add a team background to your scoreboard:

  • Tap Edit Properties in the Scoreboards tab.

  • Tap Background Image under the Team you want to edit (i.e. Team 1, Team 2).

  • Select the location of the background image.

    • The team logo will now appear next to the team name in the Scoreboard.

      • Note: if you are importing a .png file, it is best to use Switcher Cloud or Files app to preserve the background transparency.

Removing the Default Team Logos & Backgrounds

If you do not have team logos to use on your scoreboard, you can remove the default ones so that only the team names are displayed.

To remove the default team logos & backgrounds:

  • Tap Edit Properties in the Scoreboards tab.

  • Tap the Logo or Background you want to remove.

  • Scroll down and tap No Image.


Using the Scoreboard Timer

Scoreboard timers display the game time on the scoreboard in the live feed. The scoreboard timer can count down from a duration of your choosing. In addition, you can pause and resume the timer from the Scoreboard tab.

To use a scoreboard timer:

  • Go to the Scoreboard tab.

  • Toggle Display Scoreboard to the on position.

  • Tap Edit Properties.

  • Toggle Show Timer to the on position.

  • Tap Done in the top-right corner.

  • Tap the time to expand the time options.

  • Select the time you would like to count down from.

  • Tap the time again to collapse the time options.

  • When you are ready to start the clock, press the start button on the timer.

  • If you would like to pause the timer, press the stop button.

Note: The maximum duration for the Scoreboard Timer is 59 minutes and 59 seconds.


Using a Scoreboard Stopwatch

The Scoreboard Stopwatch counts up for sports like soccer and racing. You can switch between the timer, which counts down, and the stopwatch, which counts up, from within the Scoreboard tab.


To use a Scoreboard Stopwatch:

  • Go to the Scoreboard tab.
  • Toggle Display Scoreboard to the on position.
  • Tap Edit Properties.
  • Toggle Show Timer to the on position.
  • Tap Done in the top-right corner.
  • Tap Timer.
  • Tap to select Stopwatch.
  • Tap the time (i.e. 0:00)
  • Select the time you would like to count up from.
    • You can leave this at zero for the beginning of a game.
  • Tap the time again to collapse the time options.
  • When you are ready to start the clock, tap the Start.
  • If you would like to pause the timer, tap Stop.
  • To return to the original time, tap Reset.


Displaying the Scoreboard in Your Livestream

To display the Scoreboard in your livestream:

  • Open the Scoreboards tab on the main switcher.

  • Tap the toggle next to Display Scoreboard.


Keeping Score During the Livestream

To update score during the livestream:

  • Tap the Scoreboards tab.

  • Tap the plus and minus icons (+, -) to adjust the score accordingly.
