Streaming to Facebook Live with Switcher Studio is a quick and easy process to setup. Our built-in integration as a Facebook Live partner makes the setup process hassle-free and easy to navigate.

Note: You can stream to your Timeline, a Page, or a Group. Unfortunately, Facebook no longer allows streaming to an Event.

Creating a Facebook event within Switcher Studio

Tap the "+" icon in the Outputs tab.

Select the Facebook Live logo to continue.

Select Link Your Facebook Account. You will then type in the email address and password used to sign into your Facebook account (this may be a different email address/password combination that what is used for your Switcher Studio account).

You will see the option to select a streaming destination. You can stream to your Timeline, a Page, or a Group. You must have full Admin permissions for a Page/Group in order to stream to it.

If you select My Timeline, you will also get the choice to do a "Public" or a "Friends Only" stream, or to do a "Private Test Stream" that only you can see. The Private streams are normally done to test out the technology before going live in a public way.

Enter the fields for Stream Title and Stream Description, and then select a quality for your broadcast. Keep in mind that the higher the quality, the better your wireless network will need to be. If you start to experience lag, dropped frames, or even crashes, you may want to lower your quality for the sake of your networking connection.

If you want to change your streaming destination, tap on the gear icon in the top-right corner of the window. You will then see an option to select a new destination.

The Share With option lets you change the privacy of your stream. Select this, and then add Content Tags if desired. Content tags help viewers to find your stream; select from popular hashtags like #cooking, #Fortnite, #TheVoice, etc. for your tags.

If you are subscribed to either the Standard Plan or the Plus Plan, you will have an option to Schedule and Crosspost. These features are not available on the Essentials Plan.

Once you are satisfied with everything in the event creation window, tap Create Livestream.

Selecting your Facebook Live stream

Make sure that you are in the Outputs tab on the Switcher Studio app. Tap on the word "Facebook".

In grey text will be the name of your stream. Make sure this name matches the stream you intend to perform. If this does not, create a new event using the steps above.

If everything looks correct, tap the big red button in the top-right corner to go live!
