Correcting Facebook Visibility & Permissions Issues

If you all of your videos are private (no one else can see them) or a page you are Admin of doesn't show up in your destinations when creating a stream, it is likely related to a permissions issue. These issues are usually caused by the permissions selected during the initial setup of the Facebook & Switcher integration. To fix the permissions, follow the steps outlined below.

Jump to:

Unlinking Your Facebook Account From Switcher Studio

  • Navigate to the Outputs tab on your main switcher device.

  • Tap the blue "+" icon in the upper-right corner of the Outputs tab.

  • Select the Facebook Live icon from the dialog box.

  • Tap Unlink Account.

Removing the Switcher Studio Integration from Facebook

Note: You cannot do this step using the Facebook mobile app or using a mobile browser. You must use the browser version of Facebook on a Mac or PC.

  • Go to Facebook.com on a computer, and sign into your Facebook account.

  • Click your profile icon in the top-right corner.

  • Click Settings and Privacy.

  • Click Settings.

  • Click Security and Login in the left sidebar.

  • Click Business Integrations in the left sidebar.

  • Click Remove next to Switcher Studio.

  • Click Remove.

    • Switcher Studio will no longer appear in your list of Business Integrations.

Relinking Your Facebook Account to Switcher Studio

  • Go to the Outputs tab (box and arrow icon) in the Switcher app.

  • Tap the blue plus icon in the top-right corner of the Outputs tab.

  • Tap Facebook Live icon from the dialog box.

  • Tap Link Your Facebook Account.

  • Click Continue as or log in if prompted.

  • Keep the visibility setting on Public and tap OK.

    • This is really important because if you change this setting to anything but Public, no one will be able to see any videos you stream with Switcher Studio. You can adjust the visibility settings for each individual video when you set up the stream.

  • Click OK on the next screen when asked about posting content.
