Using Vertical Video Mode in Switcher Studio
You can create livestreams and recordings with vertical/portrait video, as shown here:
Vertical Video Mode is ideal if you will be sharing the video to a platform that uses vertical/portrait video, like TikTok, Facebook Story, Instagram Reels, etc. It's also ideal if you know your audience watches videos on a mobile device.
Note: This first version of vertical video includes options to livestream to Facebook and YouTube.
How to Use Vertical Video Mode
Open the Switcher Studio app on the device that will be used as the main switcher (i.e. controlling the production).
Be sure the orientation of the device itself is vertical/portrait.
Log in, if prompted.
Tap the Plus (+) icon. (iPhone only)
Tap New Livestream.
Tap Vertical.
Tap Enter Studio.
Once you are in Vertical Video Mode, you can begin editing the built-in templates and Cards, and adding new assets to prepare for the production. Assets that you previously used while in the default/horizontal mode will not appear in the Sources panel while in Vertical Video Mode.
Connecting Cameras in Vertical Video Mode
Open the Switcher Studio app on the device that will be used as a camera angle.
Be sure the orientation of the device itself is vertical/portrait.
Do not log in.
Tap Share Camera or Screen.
Tap Share this Camera to use the camera or Share this Screen to screenshare into the main switcher.
On the main switcher device, go to the Inputs tab (camera icon).
Tap the name of the device you want to connect.
On the device you are connecting, tap Allow.
In the Inputs tab on the switcher, a blue checkmark will appear next to the device name, confirming the device is connected.
The vertical camera or shared screen will appear under the Sources panel.
