Batch Importing Assets Into Switcher Studio

If you have multiple videos or image files you would like to import into Switcher Studio, you can batch import them to cut down your time in preproduction. Batch importing into Switcher Studio works with both the Photos app and Files app. This article provides the work steps to batch import these assets using your iOS device.

Compatible File Types for Batch Importing

File types that are compatible with batch importing:

  • Photo

  • Video (.mp4, .mov)


Batch Importing With the Photos App

  • Open the Photos app on your iOS device.
  • Tap Select in the top-right corner.
  • Tap each image or video you would like to import.
    • Only one type of file can be imported per batch, i.e. only video files OR only image files.
  • Tap the share icon in the bottom-left corner.
  • Tap Switcher.
    • A new window will appear with configuration options.
  • For images:
    • Select your Orientation preference.
      • The default option is 16:9. If you select 16:9, the assets will only appear when using Switcher in the 16:9 orientation. Likewise with the 9:16 orientation option.
    • Select your Layering preference.
      • The default option is Full Screen, but you can also choose Overlay.
    • Select your Production Group preference.
      • The Default option is Main, but you can choose to import it into other existing Production Groups.
  • For videos:
    • Select your Orientation preference.
      • The default option is 16:9. If you select 16:9, the assets will only appear when using Switcher in the 16:9 orientation. Likewise with the 9:16 orientation option.
    • Tap the toggle next to Enable Audio if you would like to enable or disable audio.
      • By default, audio is enabled.
    • Tap the toggle next to end on black to enable or disable.
    • Tap the toggle next to audio only if you would like to import the files as audio assets.
    • Tap Production Group to select where you would like your assets.
      • The Default option is Main, but you can choose to import it into other existing Production Groups.
  • Tap Import.
  • The Switcher app will load with a message stating that the files were imported successfully.


Batch Importing With the Files App

  • Open the Files app on your iOS device.
  • Tap Select in the top-right corner.
